The issues surrounding surveillance and security are never static and so require the development of new technologies to keep up with the changing demands. In response, the electronic security sector has developed a very dynamic approach to introducing new technologies.

The AXIS 215PTZ Network Camera utilizes a new technology called auto-flip, developed by Axis. E-flip makes it possible to follow an object moving below the ceiling mounted camera.  AXIS 215 PTZ is the first PTZ camera on the market that is shaped as a dome camera; not only does it look like a dome camera, it acts like one too.

Bosch Security Systems has introduced major enhancements to its Video Content Analysis.

Bosch IP encoders and cameras are capable of far more than simple video transmission. Embedding VCA at the edge of the network can significantly reduce bandwidth and storage. It also relieves operators of the need to continuously watch monitors and saves time on replay by adding smart search capability.

Dallmeier has placed the latest Cam_inPIX® video technology at the heart of its new range of cameras and domes. Using the latest DPS technology, Cam_inPIX® delivers unrivalled picture quality because it optimises the individual pixels of the captured image. This provides clear, high-contrast and colour-true pictures without any blooming or smearing even in the most challenging lighting or weather conditions.

Derwent Systems presents Black Diamond™, the world's first High Fidelity™ IR Illuminators, designed to literally and figuratively reshape how lighting is applied in the security industry. Developed by the engineers who pioneered the concept of Cosec² Even Illumination, Black Diamond™ technology dramatically increases achievable IR range and beam width, delivering high fidelity lighting perfectly matched to speed dome, pan-tilt-zoom and megapixel surveillance.

Visitors to the Paxton Access stand will be able to view Net2 nano, a wireless Access Control unit that embodies Paxton Access’ innovative design. Net2 nano is fully compatible with Paxton Access’ Net2, a networked Access Control system that gives central control, event reporting and flexibility over users’ access rights. Net2 nano communicates wirelessly with a Net2 PC via a Net2Air desktop reader and is particularly useful for areas where wiring may prove difficult.

Inside the new Pelco Camclosure IS you will find groundbreaking pixel-based imaging technology engineered and manufactured exclusively by Pelco. The new Camclosure IS imaging systems produce exceptional images while delivering reliable performance. The IS Series is the premier Day-Night WDR imager – perfect for any environment, at any time, in any security application.

CCTV systems that have cameras equipped with SSNR (Samsung Super Noise Reduction technology) can offer a dramatic reduction in the cost of a project. When used in larger CCTV systems, SSNR can deliver an overall reduction in the cost of a project of up to 25%. By reducing the noise from an image, the recorded file size is significantly less – by up to 70%, when using MPEG-4 compression and 40% when using JPEG thereby reducing the size of hard disk required.

Sanyo’s unique Pan-Focus technology offers an innovative and cost effective solution for surveillance applications where there is a need to see in focus all parts of a camera view. Cameras equipped with Pan-Focus ensure that objects both close up as well as far away from the camera are always simultaneously in focus.  An example of where this would be a major benefit would be in a retail environment where a camera may be used to observe activity at a till point including a queue of people.

The new contactless smart card reader from TDSi reads the serial number from standard 1k and 4k MIFARE® cards. Mounted in a robust fully encapsulated ABS housing this reader can be mounted both indoors and out.  The main industry standard output formats are supported allowing direct connection to all of the current range of TDSi access control units as well as access control panels from other manufacturers.

Vista Blade is a range of enterprise level real-time DVRs, offering high resolution images and excellent performance for systems incorporating both analogue and IP cameras. Each camera input comes with a codec to allow cameras to be fine tuned to suit any requirement. Any camera can be set to any compression level, in any quality, at any image rate per second.
