Norbain now stocking new Dallmeier Generation III DVRs

Aug 4 2003

Norbain SD is now stocking Dallmeier’s new range of Generation III Digital Video Recorders (DVR), launched officially on 1 August.

Five new DVRs comprise the Generation III range, outright winner at this year’s IFSEC Security Awards. They include:

  • two new single channel DVRs (DIS-1S and DIS-1L offering a choice of 2 or 4 internal HDD)
  • three new multi-channel DVRs for more demanding environments (DLS 6 S1, DLS 18 S1, DLS 24 S1 offering from 6 to 24 camera inputs).

Packed with a wealth of new functionality, Generation III DVRs feature:

Enhanced security with SEDOR technology. This built-in camera sabotage protection raises the alarm if the recording process is affected by the camera being tampered with – such as moving it, screening it, spraying it, or changing the focus.

A SmartFinder feature which enables the user to quickly find and evaluate pictures in motion detection-controlled recordings where movement or change has occurred in a pre-defined area of the picture.  To do this you select the recording track, draw a frame over the area of the picture you want to analyse and the SmartFinder automatically provides the pictures with changes in the marked area.

Additionally via networks, Dallmeier’s Generation III DVRs can transmit system status condition reports such as internal temperature, external temperature, fan revolution figures, sabotage attempts (from the cover and sabotage contacts), vibration or unauthorized movement, or tampering with the camera to a report host.  This enables servicing and maintenance to be automated, ensures that all interventions are technically justified improving efficiency and reducing costs for the installer.

Other features include:

  • Recording speeds of up to 50 fields ps
  • Greater choice of hard drives from 80-320GB
  • World’s first DVR with Vds certification
  • Telemetry control option
  • Mpeg 4 transmission option
  • Seamless integration in Network with existing Dallmeier technologies
  • New GUI control with existing GUI option

"Dallmeier has invested considerably in this improved range of DVRs", says Paul Wong, Norbain’s Technical and Product Development Manager. "With a broader range of configuration options, improved security and search functions, and a new, attractive and user friendly design, we anticipate considerable interest and demand for these units."
