Vista, the UK’s premier brand of CCTV equipment, has chosen Security 2004, the bi-annual European security show in Essen, Germany, as the venue for the European launch of two new products: Vista Graphica™, the new graphical user interface for the Triplex™ Columbus Digital Video Recorder, and Vista eclipse™, Vista’s new camera for 360° continuous monitoring.
A virtual matrix, Vista Graphica™ gives security operatives point and click access to any Triplex™, camera, PowerDome™, or Impro access control unit on a network based on a graphical representation of the premises rather than detailed knowledge of the system configuration itself. This will reduce the training requirement on staff as the need to have a detailed knowledge of the buildings or system will be greatly reduced. It also simplifies even further the operation of the Triplex™ Columbus making it perhaps the easiest DVR to operate available on the market today.
"But perhaps most importantly," says Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, "it will make it far easier for staff to track suspicious behaviour around a building or site as the graphical
‘map’ will enable operatives to ‘walkthrough’ the building camera by camera in a very logical progression as they follow their subject of interest."
The new GUI offers full integration with Impro’s IXP400 access control system offering true access control and CCTV system operation and will work on networks with up to 320 cameras (20 Triplex units).
Vista eclipse™ represents a breakthrough in 360º camera technology. Based on the innovative yet proven IMTERA™ processor , Vista eclipse™ captures a high-resolution ‘fisheye’ image to output two completely independent analogue outputs, each of which can display any combination from full panoramic view to up to four virtual cameras (VCAMs), each with independently controllable ‘electronic’ Pan Tilt Zoom (ePTZ) functionality.
Intelligent 360º video processing enables advanced alarm functionality that includes the automatic assignment of virtual cameras for motion detection and alarm activation. Effective subject tracking is provided with the active "VCAM" automatically tracking any movement within the cameras field of view..
Vista eclipse™ motion detection algorithms use state of the art background analysis techniques to minimise false alarms. Motion detection automatically triggers a VCAM while the camera continues to monitor the full panorama.
Mark Pritchard believes Vista eclipse™ is different to other 360° cameras because of the high quality images it captures:
"Delivering a quality of panoramic image never achieved before, Vista eclipse is the perfect solution wherever continuous panoramic vision can assist in optimising surveillance effectiveness."
