Vista launches two new Vista Protos VCRs

Dec 9 2002

Vista (www.vista-cctv.com), the UK’s premier brand of CCTV equipment, has released two new VCRs in its Protos range of timelapse videocassette recorders. The Vista VVR-27HRe, offering up to 27 hours recording playback replaces the VVR-27HRS, and the Vista VVR-960HRe, offering up to 960 hours recording playback replaces the VVR-168HR. Both new VCRs incorporate an intuitive tape management system controlled via an on-screen display (OSD). This enables the user to monitor automatically how many times the tape has been used by the machine and prompts operators when a tape should be changed. The system also allows tapes to be password protected to avoid accidental erasure of critical imagery.

"Effective tape management remains the Achilles heel of analogue-based systems", suggests Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista. "But with these new Vista VCRs, concern about effective tape rotation, compliance with the Data Protection Act, image quality and security are at an end. End users can be confident that with the VVR-27HRe or the VVR-960HRe they have selected the smartest VCR technology on the market."

Pleasantly designed in the now familiar Vista livery, the Vista Protos range of VCRs offers all the standard features that installers and end users have come to expect from a Vista VCR. These include high speed fast forward and rewind (2min end to end), field and series recording, alarm function, time and date search, clog detect and recording check function. The units are simple to operate, robustly constructed and tested for long-term reliability performance.

Vista has also announced improvements to its Vista Lite range of VCRs with the introduction of the VVRL-960 that replaces the VVRL-480 and offers 960 hours recording capability compared with 480 hours previously. The VVRL-27 model remains unchanged.
