2004 CCTV Technical Guide and Access Control Catalogues

Jan 13 2004

Norbain SD, Europe’s largest distributor of CCTV and Access Control equipment, is publishing two new catalogues on 1st February: the 2004 CCTV Technical Guide and the 2004 Access Control catalogue. Featuring six new manufacturers and over 750 new product lines, the two catalogues represent the single largest extension to Norbain’s product line for several years.

CCTV brands included in the Technical Guide for the first time include wireless video transmission products from RDT (1394MHz & 2400Mhz), covert cameras and industrial PIRs from Pecan and high quality varifocal and zoom lenses from Fujinon. Norbain will now also stock Samsung cameras and domes and the first CRT flat screen monitor (15" & 21") available for the UK security industry, also from Samsung.  Biometrics products from Bioscrypt now feature in the Access Control catalogue as well as the Norbain Technical Guide, reflecting growth in this sector. Also in Access Control, Javelin card printers feature for the first time.

The greatest area of expansion however, lies in Digital Recording products as Paul Wong, Norbain’s Technical and Product Development Manager, explains:

"The Digital Recording section of the Norbain Technical Guide is greatly expanded in this new edition of the catalogue. This reflects the huge growth in demand from customers for products from across the digital spectrum.

"From Videoswitch we now stock VDC, their compact, well specified and excellent value 4 & 9 channel Digital Video Recorder (DVR).  The Eventys range of DVRs from Bewater also features for the first time. This is the first DVR that can record analogue and digital images. Dallmeier’s PViewIII networking software is included along with Dedicated Micros 4 channel DVR, the Eco4. Also at the lower end of the DVR market, we feature Mitsubishi’s DX range of 9 & 16 channel DVRs. And at the other extreme, we have included Pelco’s DX 9000 series of DVRs for high end applications.

"We fully expect 2004 to be the year that digital recording secures its position as the natural and first choice recording media for CCTV. Our 2004 Technical Guide reflects our determination to ensure that our customers have the broadest selection of high quality DVRs from which to choose."

Norbain SD has annual revenues in excess of £97m with sales in over 77 countries across 5 continents. The home of Vista, the UK’s largest selling brand of electronic security equipment, Norbain represents over 100 of the world’s leading CCTV and Access Control brands.

Norbain registered customers will receive copies of their catalogues automatically. New customers may obtain a copy of either catalogue from 1 February by telephoning Norbain on 0118 944 0123.
