With the huge number of competing Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) on the market, it can be difficult to understand the differences between them and which is the most suitable for your application. Along with other exciting electronic security products from the worlds leading brands, the LIVE06 series of events give you the opportunity to see a wide range of DVRs from the premier manufacturers and take the time to ask questions and make your own comparisons.

The Vivid range from Baxall has been designed to take full advantage of the new JPEG2000 compression technology to give better picture quality at lower storage rates. The latest enhancements include a new thumbnail search feature which enables an incident to be pinpointed from over 6 hours of video to within seconds using this new search feature.
Bosch Security Systems has launched DiBos 8, a family of powerful, network-oriented digital video surveillance and recording systems featuring advanced MPEG-4 digital encoding technology for the highest levels of image quality, information content, and data storage efficiency.
Dallmeier Electronic brings to the market PDA and GPRS connectivity for their DLS 6 PDA digital video recorder. The DLS 6 PDA is an entry-level system for smaller CCTV installations and features as standard 6 camera inputs expandable to 18 through remote activation along with a 120 GB hard disk.
Dedicated Micros has strengthened its popular Eco range of entry-level DVRs with the launch of the advanced Eco16. With its extra channels it can be connected to up to 16 cameras, comes with a choice of 160GB or 300GB hard drives, and supports record rates of up to 25pps (PAL) 30pps (NTSC).
Pelco are now shipping new units of the DX8000 DVR with Version 1.1 Software, offering a whole host of additional features. These include massive external HDDI storage support, flexible back-up scheduler, image enhancement on 4CIF Play back, a new instant recording feature.
Samsung Techwin will be featuring an exciting DVR line up with new products including the 4 channel stand-alone SVR-440 through to the 16 channel SVR-1650. As with all Samsung Techwin products, technologies often only seen in high end products can be found on every model in the range.
The functionality of the Vista eclipse™ DVR has now been extended through the new Network Viewer software. This free software connects to the DVR via TCP/IP, allowing the operator to view live and recorded images over a network, via the user friendly Network Viewer GUI. This provides the benefit of being able to download video clips to the local PC.
