Security Matters 50 May/June 2007

English (issued May 1 2007)

Welcome to the 50th edition of Security Matters. To commemorate the occasion, we’ve taken a trip down memory lane to see how the magazine has changed over the years – see pages 20-21 for details.

Of course, IFSEC is also upon us, so we’ll be taking a closer look at the
exciting range of CCTV, Access Control, IP and Intruder Detection products available to view on the Norbain stand.

IFSEC is the industry’s premier event and offers visitors a unique opportunity to get advice on their applications and see what’s new in the marketplace. It will be held on the 21st – 24th May at the Birmingham NEC. For more details on the event please visit www.ifsec.co.uk.

As usual, we have some great case studies for you. In this edition we look at how Storage King Tyseley has had Europe’s first ever biometric Access Control system fitted at a self-storage facility. Portvale FC are using an all-Vista CCTV system to record matches and make footage easily available to the Police should and incident occur. TNT has used a sophisticated range of CCTV, Access Control and Intruder products to
provide them with a simple-to-use security and managent system.
Finally, the Marton Mere Caravan Park near Blackpool is using a combination of CCTV and Intruder Detection to ensure that the caravans and other buildings in the park are secure, especially out of season.
