Security Matters 52 Sept/Oct 2007

English (issued Sep 1 2007)

Welcome to the September/October edition of Security Matters. With Norbain LIVE07 just around the corner, we’ll be taking an in-depth look at what the events are all about. If you haven’t already registered, you can go to norbainlive.com and choose to attend an event near you.

We will be continuing our focus on CameraWatch, a new independent advisory body on CCTV compliance. This time we’ll be looking in more detail at their claim that 90% of CCTV systems are non-compliant.

Case studies focus on Knights BMW Group in Stoke-on-Trent who wanted a means of protecting the high value stock kept on site from theft or damage, and also to help them provide outstanding service to their customers. Jacuzzi UK has used a CCTV system to monitor the loading of trucks and ensure security around their main warehouse, which forms the headquarters for the company, and the nearby manufacturing plant. Significant cost savings and improvements to processes have been made, making the system a resounding
success.

There’s also the usual look at where Norbain will be exhibiting over the next year and what we’ve been up to in the news.
